The nominees for the Game Awards will be revealed later, during the upcoming months. However, we already know the date we’ll see Geof Keighley back on stage. This year the ceremony will take place on December 9 at the Microsoft Theater. After last year’s pandemic restrictions were slightly eased, the ceremony is planned to be in-person.

The host of the ceremony told the audience that everyone on the team was excited to go offline. On December 9, they will celebrate the new beginning, rewarding the past success. As of now, there is no official list of the games that are considered nominees. The ceremony will air on numerous platforms in 4K UHD format. The start has not been announced yet. However, considering the history of this ceremony, it will be expected to happen somewhere around 6 pm. There will be a pre-show airing for everyone to catch up with the ceremony.

The best guess is that It Takes Two and Deathloop are nominated. During the year filled with lockdown fears and Covid threats, developers created numerous masterpieces. The audience, who had to stay at home, was desperate for the new games. No matter whether you are a user of Xbox, PC, Switch, or PlayStation, you probably did not feel a lack of games this year. It is expected to air around 40 social, video, and gaming platforms. It is up to you which one to pick. The most obvious choices are YouTube, Twitter, or Twitch.

Predictions

It is hard to make predictions since the year was rich in games. However, we may assume that since there is an HBO premiere of The Last of Us TV series, the game will not be left outside as well. Dragon Age 4 is also a solid candidate. Don’t forget about Elden Ring, one of Geoff’s favorites.

Which game do you consider as a winner this year? Which one do you believe is a failure of the year? You can share your predictions in the comments below.
