Google has announced the introduction of a step-by-step tour across Google Chrome’s privacy-focused functionality for users to better understand what kind of protective features and control they can count on. The Privacy Guide will explain what effect this or that setting will have on user experience. According to the announcement, you should expect the Privacy Guide to appear on your M100 Chrome device soon. The information comes from an official blog post by Google that’s dedicated to the new feature.

The guided tour will focus on what particular settings stand for and how they might interact with each other. Google’s new Privacy Guide will explore history synchronization, cookies control, and other aspects of how you can browse the web safely using Chrome. According to Audrey An, Google Safety Engineering Center’s Product Manager, the product may well receive new features as user feedback becomes available. To access the tour, you’ll need to select the Security and Privacy tab in your Chrome settings. This is done through the Settings menu that opens on clicking the three dots in the top right corner of the interface.

The Privacy Guide is the first major update to Google Chrome’s functionality to appear since February. Previously, the search giant rolled out the Journeys feature, which enables users to see their search history organized by topics. It’s due to this addition that you may be prompted to resume your search when typing a request you have previously showed interest in. Apart from this, Journeys are accessible from your browser’s History tab. Does this sound like Chrome is improving to you?
