With over 8 years having passed since GTA 5 and the recent rollout of the remastered GTA trilogy, game enthusiasts are curious when GTA 6 is coming. Are you still hoping for a Grand Theft Auto 6 launch in 2021? We recommend that you drop these futile hopes because the Rockstar Games team is all busy launching a brand new GTA Online overhaul.

Yes, it looks like the upcoming remaster of GTA 5 is holding Rockstar back. According to the reliable insider TezFunz, the next GTA Online expansion will be arriving around December 14, which means there will hardly be any surprise reveal from Rockstar Games regarding GTA 6 in 2021. The developer is putting a major amount of effort into the update and seems to want no distraction at this point.

GTA Online is currently one of the most popular gaming experiences on consoles and is among the best sellers for PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The 8-year-old game is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with all new tweaks and secret content. The devs have been firmly tight-lipped about the details of the update, and for now, this tendency is stable. Based on the highly succinct Twitter message from TezFunds, the DLC release might take place on December 14th.

You might have noticed that these days, Rockstar doesn’t launch games as often as it used to. That’s mainly because the studio management made a decision to focus on one project at a time for the purpose of making the player experience truly immersive and unforgettable.

With all that said, GTA 6 might be a bit more than a pipe dream for now, but toning down your expectations as to its release in 2021 would be the wisest choice.
