The anticipation surrounding World of Warcraft is at an all-time high with the release of The War Within, marking the beginning of the highly-anticipated Worldsoul Saga. This new expansion has breathed fresh life into the game and unlocked a treasure trove of fresh content and thrilling adventures for players to explore.

But there’s even more to be excited about, as Blizzard has also unveiled their plans for celebrating two monumental anniversaries: the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft and the 30th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise.

These milestones are set to be commemorated in spectacular fashion, with an array of special in-game events, rewards, and experiences that will take fans on a nostalgic journey while offering fresh challenges.

In a recent announcement, Blizzard provided a detailed preview of the upcoming festivities, which promise to be a grand celebration of Warcraft's rich history and enduring legacy. While the full reveal video offers a comprehensive overview, here are some of the most exciting highlights that players can look forward to.

One of the standout features of the anniversary celebration is the return of the classic dungeon Blackrock Depths, now reimagined as a raid for 10 to 15 players. This fan-favorite dungeon will challenge players with a mix of five mini-bosses and eight main bosses, providing a formidable experience for both veteran and new players alike. The raid will be available in Looking for Raid (LFR), Normal, and Heroic modes, catering to various levels of difficulty and group sizes.

Another exciting element of the anniversary event is the chance to revisit iconic moments from Warcraft’s past. Players will have the opportunity to join Chromie, the time-traveling dragon, in an epic quest to repair broken timelines.

This journey will take them through historic battles such as the opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj and confront legendary foes like The Scourge and The Burning Legion. Notable bosses, including Ossirian the Unscarred and Kel'Thuzad, will return to challenge players in these time-bending adventures.

Timewalking, a popular feature that allows players to experience dungeons from past expansions, is also making a grand comeback. This time around, players can dive back into classic dungeons such as The Deadmines and Zul'Farrak, as well as two wings each of Dire Maul and Stratholme. These dungeons will be available to players starting at level ten, making them more accessible than ever for a wide range of players.

In addition to the nostalgic content, Blizzard is introducing a variety of new items and rewards to mark the occasion. Among the most anticipated is the Coldflame Tempest, a stunning blue phoenix mount that is sure to be a prized possession for collectors.

Players will have the opportunity to acquire armor sets that draw inspiration from Blizzard service awards, complete with in-game versions of those awards. Other exciting rewards include a baby Dreadlord pet and faction-themed back crests representing iconic groups such as the Orcs, Humans, Elves, and Scourge.

One of the most thrilling updates for many players is the expansion of class options for the Dracthyr, who will now have access to six additional classes. Shamans, too, are in for a treat, as they will gain new Ascendant forms, providing them with powerful new abilities.

Perhaps the most anticipated feature of the anniversary celebration, however, is the return of classic armor sets. Beloved tier two sets, such as the Judgment Armor, will be making a triumphant comeback with updated visual effects. Even classes that were not available during the original release, like Monks and Evokers, will receive their own versions of these iconic sets, each themed after memorable non-playable characters (NPCs) from Warcraft's rich history.

With so much content on the horizon, it’s clear that Blizzard is pulling out all the stops to make the 20th and 30th anniversaries of World of Warcraft and Warcraft truly unforgettable. Whether you're a long-time player or new to the game, the upcoming events offer something for everyone, blending nostalgia with exciting new content in a way that only World of Warcraft can.
