Snapchat is about new lenses every day, we have already got used to these loads of content. Among these lenses, the most interesting in terms of e-commerce is Shopping Lens, the set of tools that allow customers to try on various items and products with AR-powered masks.

What products can be advertised and promoted through these lenses? The answer is lots of them. While Pinterest introduces AR-based furniture shopping, Snapchat has almost everything that can be tried on: sunglasses, footwear, cosmetics, accessories, and stuff. They will be easier to try on without accessing a physical product, with just a lens from the catalog. This can also make shopping more social because images and videos with these lenses are easy to share to ask whether it becomes you.

These lenses will be accompanied by Lens Product cards. Shopping with these will be even easier: the card contains all the crucial characteristics of the product. And if you decided to buy it indeed, here is the link where you can place your order and submit the payment. More than that: now a single lens can support multiple products and multiple links, becoming a mini shop window with a collection of similar items.

According to Snapchat, a customer who has tried a product on with an AR lens is 2.4 times more likely to buy it at the end. Business owners can just upload their catalogs and then generate lenses through Lens Studio which offers fantastic adjustment features or Lens Web Builder which requires less knowledge and skill. Then they can promote their lenses, which is paid, but with the right audience profiling, it can lead to increased conversion. Another number mentioned by Snap is 6 billion: that’s how many times a day its users try various AR lenses and make photos and videos.

Have you ever decided to buy an item because you liked its AR image on you? Do you think this sort of shopping has a bright future? Let’s share our ideas and opinions in the comments!
