Following the introduction of the Mario-themed area in Osaka, Japan last year, building similar parks in the U.S. was only a matter of time. Sadly, there wasn’t even an approximate timeframe for when those amazing lands would start accepting visitors. Until now. In 2023, Universal Studios Hollywood is scheduled to open the first US-based Super Nintendo World ‘themed land’.

As a matter of fact, Super Nintendo World is already being constructed in the US. Moreover, Nintendo and Universal Studios are also planning to bring Super Nintendo World to Orlando, Florida, but the launch date with regard to Florida hasn't been announced yet.

While the park in L.A. will be Nintendo-centric, it will keep laser-like focus on the Mario games, showering its visitors with a treasure trove of themed attractions, rides, and stores for the series’ fans.

According to the Nintendo announcement, an out-of-this-world, absolutely captivating land will be a marvelous display of bright colors and one-of-a-kind buildings, while offering innovative adventures and exciting interactive locations catering to people of all ages. For an enhanced experience, park visitors are free to make the most of its themed shopping and dining activities.

As we are drooling in anticipation of the grand opening, Universal revealed that its gift shop will receive a multitude of Super Nintendo World-inspired merch, including Mario and Luigi’s classic white hats, as well as other themed clothes, plush toys, and gifts. Some of the aforementioned merchandise will become available at Universal Studios Hollywood well in advance of the 2023 launch. Therefore, you’ll get to plan your outfit very carefully for the park’s opening.
