While the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is celebrating its seventh anniversary this year, there are still large audiences whose needs remain unmet, in particular, those using PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Luckily, it seems like this is going to change soon. CD Projekt Red has posted an announcement on its Twitter page promising the arrival of the game’s versions targeting PS5 and Xbox Series later this year. More specifically, the rollout is planned for Q4, which means between October and December. The tweet in question appeared on May 19 and understandably avoids mentioning any specific date.

First published in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the sequel to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, released back in 2022, and the third title in the Witcher series by the Polish developer CD Projekt Red. The entire line is based on fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and is set in the universe of The Witcher, which was largely inspired by Slavic mythology. In the third part, you roam an open world, playing with a third-person perspective, slaying enemies, and trying to find your adopted daughter Geralt of Rivia, also known as the Witcher. The reason you have to go looking for your daughter is exactly the Wild Hunt, a popular motif in mythology and one that definitely sets you in a macabre mood.

With three possible endings depending on how you approach your life choices, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is worth exploring more than once. Factor in the unprecedented ambition that went into it, add a number of critically acclaimed extension packs seeking to supply players with whatever cosmetics and other add-ons they might want, and you get a game not to be missed regardless of your preferred platform. Are you looking forward to seeing either of the launches of the version? Share your expectations in the comments down below.
